This e-portal is being developed to facilitate the communication and interaction between project committee members in this project. These individuals represent federal and state highway agencies, university research centers and industry components related to pavement research. The members of the technical advisory committee (TAC) in this project will be able to access the latest information and data related to FHWA Pooled Fund Project TPF-5(177).
TAC members in this project will participate in different activities overseen by the FHWA and will develop various tasks relevant to the objectives of the study. Likewise, the TAC will help prioritize the goals foreseen throughout the project with direction provided by FHWA. This project will require implementation programs; therefore, the TAC will assist FHWA during the implementation stage of those projects.
The Transtec Group will assist FHWA by organizing meetings with a group of experts to discuss current issues about resilient modulus testing technologies and to define better procedures.
The objectives of this study are:
To reduce the variability currently associated with resilient modulus testing of unbound materials.
To conduct a precision and bias study of the test procedure.
Provide assistance to states to properly equip and setup a laboratory for successful MR testing.
